Whee! I'm Getting my Tablet!

Well I finally convinced my superiors to purchase a drawing tablet for me! I got Photoshop and Illustrator and stuff on my computer up at the front desk and I've really been nagging them for a tablet so that I could help with random graphic projects. This IS an architectural firm after all. I'm happy to do random things. It would actually make the front desk a little more tolerable! But I'm MORE excited because I can now do a LOT of my computer coloring at work, which is where I have most of the free time. For those of you who have gotten commissions from me and see how friggin long it takes me sometimes, rest assured the speeds at which commissions would be done would be sped up 10 fold! I'm thinking of actually taking a few more. I have one more commission to color and then I'll be free! I'm also going to really get cracking on my Gods series too.

Waiting anxiously for the next 2 Twilight series books to arrive. Damn you, postman, hurry up! I KNOW they're coming today! USPS said so! ;_;

There are lots of random sites with various behind the scenes footage of the movie now! Plus videos! I'm so excited for the movie, I wish I didn't have to wait until December. I think I may have to go see it by myself. I think Fred would probably kill himself if he had to share a theatre with a ton of 14-17 year old girls. I can't wait tho. Ahh guity pleasures...

Speaking of guilty pleasures, Sex and the City movie is coming out soon too! Now that is a movie I'll be able to share with a few gal friends here at work. So far I have 2 other girls coming to see it with me. I am so jazzed. I remember the good old days of when :icontracyjb: Andrea and I shared a place and Andrea and I would spend entire weekends watching the whole series, while Tracy would have to put up with it. Come on, Trac, you know it wasn't THAT bad. ;)

I'm having a difficult time now that I've finished the first book of the series, Twilight. It's a weird sensation I haven't felt since back in my Star Souperz days. I'm just so unbelievably obsessed with this book and the constant high I'm feeling while thinking about it hasn't been in me in YEARS. It's so frustrating and obnoxious at the same time. You all know what I'm talking about. I use to feel this a lot. When I was really into an anime or something, it was so much fun just chatting with my gal pals about it and obsessively drawing the characters, making fan characters. God, how long has it been since I've done that?? Anyways I ordered the other books in the series and they're on their way and in the meantime I've been actually going back and re-reading my fave scenes over and over. I feel so silly! But what's making this tough for me is I have no one to be giggly obsessed with. Back in the good old days I had so many people to talk to online and now I hardly have any. =( I wanna do silly fanart and giggle with people about how much I love this and that! I feel like I'm staying the same while everyone else in my life is growing up. Sooo many girls at work my age and I can't relate to ANYONE about this kind of stuff. Ah well. I may have to do fanart tho, I dunno why but I feel like I must draw Edward Cullen, even tho the book makes it too difficult to even attempt to imagine how utterly perfect he is. I feel bad for the guy playing him in the movie. No matter WHO they got to play him, he's not going to be gorgeous enough. (tho from the teaser trailer I thought he looked pretty damn good) She just described him as so god damned beautiful that it was getting annoying haha.

And that's that for now I suppose. I think I might give that doodling a try. Tootles!

OMG I read 3/4 of this book in one work day! O_O I'm sorry if it's lame because it's a lovey vampire book but OMG I'm DYING to finish it! It's so lovey and I LOVe these horribly romantic tales. And I found out it's going to be a movie in December! I saw the teaser trailer this afternoon and YEE! I can't remember the last time I felt like this, like a cheesy dorky fangirl!! Yee1 anyone else read these novels?!

Oh man this happened when I got back from my wedding last year. I was REALLY cranky at work for two weeks after. I think it's just getting back into the swing of things. I just REALLY don't want to be here. The days this week are draggggging. I feel bad too because I'm trying to not snap at people or do my usual PMS-y things but my newfound hatred and repulsion of my workplace is just very difficult to hide. =P Whine whinnnne I know I know.

Has anyone got their stimulus checks yet? My number ends in 30 and I still haven't gotten mine! =P I have 600 in bills for cars and crap that need to be paid off and I kind of need that money, like, NOW. Such a pain in the arse.

Well that's enough with the complaining! We got GTA4 and Fred's been playing it. It's so friggin awesome. Anyone else playing it?

Well where do I begin? What a week! Honestly I would have to say that we were ready to go home around Thursday. I think we missed our computers and stuff, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a magical honeymoon.

The trip there was AWFUL. We left the house at 4:30 for a 7:00 flight. The ride to Chicago wasn’t bad but the Mexicana flight was TERRIBLE. There was a mother there with a couple of toddlers who did NOTHING but shriek and cry. What annoyed me more tho was the fact that she did nothing about it. She didn’t apologize or maybe take a kid to the back to calm them down. She just sat there while her two kids threw fits that were making it very difficult for the other passengers. Add that to the worst turbulence EVER and you’ve got a shitty airplane ride. I was in tears by the time we landed. The stress of the screaming kids and the bad bumpy ride was too much. But we got there ok.

Going thru customs was a piece of cake. We were out of the airport in no time. We had no idea where to go from there so we walked outside and we found an adorable old man with a sign that said “Frederic Janney” on it. The people we set the trip up with thought of everything! He was so nice and got us in a big air conditioned van all to ourselves! Then we went straight to the resort which was about an hour and a half away. There wasn’t much to look at on the trip there. Mexico is a rough looking place.

So we got to the resort and WOW it was unlike anything I’ve ever seen! The place was gorgeous and clean and augh, so perfect! We checked in and the front desk staff was so friendly and served us mimosas. I didn’t even know what a mimosa was until last week. OJ and champagne! I THINK they used Sunny D on their breakfast mimosas tho because it just tasted better then when I ordered them from the bar with actual OJ. Anyways we went to our room and it was super close to everything AND we had an ocean view! The room was huge and so sunny and just all around awesome.

We got a schedule by around the second day. We’d wake up and go to the buffet for breakfast. Then we would go back and change for the beach or pool. We would swim until lunch and then buffet it up again. Then we would walk around or something then head back to the hotel room and enjoy a few hours of laying around and watching TV (or not ;););)) until close to dinner time. Then we went to the big bar for some live music then we went back to the room and went to sleep. We weren’t able to stay up late! We missed a lot of shows but that’s ok, we enjoyed ourselves.

The beach was amazing. We’re glad we brought water shoes tho because some areas were really rocky. It was nice because it wasn’t busy at all the week we were there. We always got a good spot on the beach. Some days we stayed at the pools instead. This place had a ton of them stretched out all over. A few pools even had bars by the pool! The bar even had underwater barstools for us to sit on and drink while we swim! I love free liquor. =D

We were stupid and got sunburns our first day there. It wouldn’t have been so bad but my burns were so splotchy! Like cow spots! I dunno how that happened. I saw so many women with tans and burns but at least they were EVEN. I have a tan line on my right arm that looks like a lightening bolt or something! WTF?! But yeah, the burns slowed us down a lot but we still managed to have a great time.

Part of our package also was 3 dinners at some of their uber fancy restaurants. We went to a French place, a Seafood place, and a Japanese place. The French place was so fancy! We had filet minion and caviar! The Seafood place was ok but the Japanese place was WOW. It was just so cool that we didn’t have to pay for any of this stuff! The buffets were nice and HUGE but got tiring after awhile. They did have ice cream on tap though which was sweet. I ate way too much chocolate ice cream that week, lol.

The TV wasn’t too bad either. What was funny was one of their channels, channel 10, played Disney’s The Haunted Mansion 24/7 over and over that ENTIRE week! It was really weird. It would just play until the end credits and then start up again. Why?!?!!?! There were a few channels that played a good 3 or 4 movies over and over again but that was nothing like The Haunted Mansion! There were a few channels with English (Spanish subs) and I discovered a few shows I really liked like Dirty Sexy Money! I need to find that show here in the US!

Oh! We also made a new kitty friend! He was stationed outside of the big bar. He was a kitten, well more of a “teenager” cat. He was sooo sweet. He was always there, every morning, just laying outside of the bar. He was so friendly and enjoyed the attention he got. I sat down with him every morning and gave him loving. He really enjoyed chewing on my sandals and wrestling lol. I’m gonna miss that cat. He was very well taken care of tho so that made me feel good. We ran into a few other cats around the resort but none of them wanted anything to do with us, just Kitty.

So I think that covers about everything. The trip back was a disaster. Our flight in Chicago was delayed two hours and we didn’t get in until 3:00AM. Thanks a lot Tyler for giving us a ride. We REALLY appreciate it. ;_; Once again, The Mexicana flight was filled with monstrous turbulence and Fred said he even thought we might die there for a second. I don’t get what the problem was but flights like that are never good.

So below is a link to some pics! I took a lot of photos of the resort since it was so pretty! Sorry this is so long! There was just too much to say!
