Not much going on over here. Work has been stressful tho. I'm the receptionist and because of that it puts me in charge of a lot of things like garage parking, meeting signup, etc etc. The problem is a lot of the architects I work with are kind of divas and think they're above the rules and defy me for the sake of defying me. Then I get yelled at by my boss and then I have to go to these architects and talk to them like I would a 1st grader and it makes their unreasonable hatred for me even worse. I feel more like a nanny then a receptionist. These people can't do ANYTHING on their own because obviously their time is more important then mine or the other admin. I can't believe I've actually made enemies here over something as retarded as parking sign-up. It's so frustrating because I can't stand when people dislike me for NO REASON. Gives me flashbacks of middle school again. And what's worse is the other admin bow to the architects every whim even tho they're catering to their rule breaking, and it makes me look WORSE. So I have architects going to the other admin for stuff I should be doing because they don't even want to talk to me. And these same architects are buddies with the admin staff who I like to think are my friends. Again, same thing as school when my pretty popular younger sister Kelly would hang out with the kids who use to beat me up. "Oh but they're so nice, Candice." She would say. Uhuh. It wouldn't be so bad if the company was larger and I could avoid these people.

I know it's a silly stupid whine but it's making work more stressful then it should be lately and it's starting to piss me off.

Sorry, hon, but every time you get behind a desk, they assume your IQ drops about 130 points.

I get guys like that all the time at the bowling alley. What part of "Those balls are too light for you to throw like that" don't they get?

But I sympathize. I hope the sitch improves.

yeah i was that kid in highschool too >.< maybe you should try talking to your co-workers about it. they might hate dealing with them as much as you do but dont have the guts to stand up to them, or just think its easier to let them have their way. i hope you can find a solution

Sorry to hear that, and I can sympathize. I felt that I was getting picked on a lot more by my boss because I'm female. Plus it didn't help that my boss had no qualifications to be in the position he currently holds.

One can only take so much mental abuse and I ended up putting in my two weeks. I'm much happier now and hopefully I'll have a new job shortly.

I hope things get better for you.
i hated middle school.
being teased all the time for nothing, and being the brunt of neverending jokes, really makes an impact on your future. *hugs*

Bleaaat....@..@
This is where I would probably start nagging these boss friends for information to keep myself up to date.
But hey, probably beats retail.

Now I'm just rambling.
Rabble rabble.

rabble.

I'm in business. Business of kicking your ass. And let me tell you what, business is booming.
wow... O.o it sounds like a lot of the people you work with are kinda immature.

Almost 20 YAY ME
The more I hear of them, the more you average architect sounds like a spoiled manchild.
Way to show off maturity. I feel your pain, sistah. I work in an office where are clients feel the need to be immature asses. We even received an email on how if "they were going to go down, they weren't going alone". Lame if you ask me.

But here's to hoping it gets better.
Yeah it would be cool to quit but the company pays really well for what I do and I keep getting raises every year. I don't think I want to give up the good pay. =P
